Man cut out of car after Mini Cooper and van collide

Emergency were called after there were reports of a collision between two vehicles near a busy roundabout.

Police, paramedics and fire crews were all called to the accident at around 4.30pm when the car, believed to be a Mini Cooper, was hit by a van at speed. The impact was strong enough to trap one occupant inside his vehicle and fire crews had to cut the roof off to free him in order to take him to hospital.

A police spokesperson commented: “the road was down to one lane but is now re-opened.

“Two vehicles were involved. It is not thought anyone was seriously injured.”
