A worker had to air-lifted to hospital after sustaining serious injuries at work. Emergency services were called at approx. 9.30 am and responded with 2 ambulances and a paramedic response vehicle. According to recent reports, a man has been left in a “critical condition” following a farm accident in Flagg, near Buxton, Derbyshire.

Farming firm ordered to pay £80,000 after a worker dies in a tractor accident.

The deceased from Somerset was driving a tractor with no seat belt, cab or roll over bar on a sloping field when the accident occurred.
Bristol Crown Court heard staff at the farming firm regularly used the tractor to carry out work at the farm. On the day of the incident, the victim had been checking the cattle, and on the way back the tractor rolled over on a sloping field. (more…)

Fall at work leaves man blind in one eye

A worker suffered serious head injuries which left him blind in one eye following a fall through a fragile barn roof.

The 31-year-old man was carrying out repairs to the roof when a corrugated panel gave way. The worker fell to the concrete floor of the barn and was airlifted to hospital after sustaining multiple fractures to his skull. (more…)
