Cumbria Man to Face Trial over Serious Injury

A man from Cumbria will next month go on trial following an incident outside a take-away.

The man in question is accused of deliberately causing serious injury to a man outside a late night eatery in Workington.

The prosecution say the man, who must remain unnamed, kicked their client to the head causing him grievous bodily harm (GBH).

He denies the charges and claims that he acted out of self-defense.

The accused man has been remanded in custody and will face a jury on 13 February 2012.
