Footballer Charged with Assault After Evidence Review

A footballer from Scotland who assaulted a taxi driver has been charged following a review of CCTV evidence. 

The 21-year-old was arrested along with another 21-year-old woman after police investigated reports of an attack in Glasgow’s south side area.

Footage of the assault has been widely view on the internet. 

The club that the player plays for released a statement following the allegations which said. “The Club is still in the process of gathering all the information on the incident and we will be able to issue a further statement once we have all the details to hand.”

Later, police confirmed that two arrests had been made. 

“A 21-year old man and a 21-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with an alleged assault.”

Criminal injury compensation experts say that the taxi driver could be entitled to compensation.
