Former nursing assistant dropped by Tameside Hospital

A former nursing assistant has received a broken leg in two places after being dropped following a routine lift in hospital. The retired patient was receiving treatment for a fractured ankle from the hospital where she had worked for over 30 years.

Tameside hospital has issued an apology stating it has ‘let down’ their patient and they are currently in negotiations to organise compensation for the former staff member.

The patient has been left in pain and is angry at her loss of independence as a result of hospital negligence.
