Man Arrested after Pub is Destroyed by Car Accident

A man has been arrested in connection with a car accident which destroyed the front of a local pub in Cheshire.

The 31-year-old man from Chester was arrested this morning at a police station in city where he is under suspicion of 18 counts of assault, criminal damage, dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and failing to report the car crash.

He is currently in custody where he is aiding police with further enquiries.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident on Sunday morning at 6.37am.

The collision involved two cars which collided and rammed the front of the Bridge Inn pub.

Two men and a woman were taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital to be treated for their injuries.

Nobody in the pub was hurt, but the premises remain closed while repairs are made.
