Man left deafened after being attacked in a nightclub

A man in his 30s was knocked to the floor after receiving an elbow to the side of the head following an unprovoked attack in a nightclub in Manchester. The victim sustained such a forceful blow to the head that it caused bruising and bleeding on the brain which resulted in him losing the hearing in his right ear.

What is particularly devastating for the victim is that he is already deaf in his left ear and now, as a result of another man’s reckless and violent behaviour, he is now deaf in both ears.

The man has been left traumatised by the event and has been unable to return to work. As well as the physical effects of the assault, he has been left with emotional scars and distress and is often ‘scared and nervous’.
