Man Suffers Multiple Fractures After Motorbike Race Crash

A man has suffered serious injuries after a crash in a motocross event in Exmoor this weekend.

The rider fractured multiple bones and was airlifted to Derriford hospital in Plymouth following the incident.

It is understood that the rider was thrown from his motorbike into a woodland after a crash during one of the races at the event.

St John’s Ambulance crews used an off road vehicle to get across the challenging terrain and offer the man treatment.

The helicopter landed 500 meters from the scene of the accident and ambulance crews used a stretcher to ensure he was transferred to the helicopter safely.

The condition of the man, who is believed to be in his 30s, is not currently known.
