Motorcyclist sustains serious head injuries in accident

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man sustained significant head injuries in an accident when his motorbike collided with a stone wall.
Police are still trying to piece together what happened and why the accident occurred at approx 8.30pm.

They are unsure whether there was another vehicle involved in the 34-year-olds accident when his Keeway 125cc motorbike left the road and hit the stone wall.

Emergency services attended the scene and secured the roads and, as a result of his injuries, he was taken to Hospital by air ambulance where he still remains.

Roads were closed by police until 11-20pm while accident and investigation work was carried out.

A Police spokesperson said: “The motorcyclist has sustained serious injuries as a result of this collision and I would urge anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the accident and may have seen what happened to contact us.”
