Motorist fined over speeding conviction lie

A motorist has been fined a total of almost £300 over a speeding conviction, but ironically it was not all down to the driving.

The 25 year old woman was caught doing 38mph in a 30mph zone, but when she received the fine in the post, she wrote back to the police and claimed it was her mother driving.

After a further investigation into the insurance of the BMW 318, Swedish born Amanda Zetterholm confessed that it was in fact her that was driving the vehicle.

She was consequently fined £185 for her dishonestly, ordered to pay £85 court costs and £15 victim impact surcharges.

Zetterholm was also fined £95 for speeding and had 4 points added to her driving license.
