Police appeal for witnesses after young cyclist is knocked off his bike

A young cyclist was dismounted from his bike after colliding with a white Seat car and Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward and confirm exactly how the accident happened.

The incident is believed to have happened at around 4.50pm on a busy outer ring road when emergency crews responded to a call. The cyclist sustained serious injuries and was quickly taken to the District Hospital and then transferred to General Infirmary due to his injuries.

The 61 year old driver of the car was not injured in the incident.

Police are appealing for a doctor to come forward, who stopped at the scene of the collision to assist the injured boy until an ambulance arrived. They also need to speak to anyone else who was in the area at the time and saw the crash or witnessed events leading up to the collision.
