Pub brawl leaves two injured

Police have arrested two men, a 17 and 28 year old, following a pub brawl at a Cheltenham establishment. The altercation took place at the Moon under Water pub on the Bath road whereby a number of men ganged together and attacked two males.

The fight broke out at around 11.20pm on Saturday night and quickly escalated when the men started to use items of furniture as weapons.

The two victims of the assault were hurt, with one suffering bruising and reddening to his face and body and also broken knuckles from striking someone in self defence.

One man has been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and the other 17-year-old boy was arrested last week on suspicion of affray in connection with the incident.

Criminal injury compensation specialists have already suggested that the attack victims could be entitled to a payout for the incident, if substantial evidence could be obtained.

Anyone with information on the attack has been asked to call the investigating officers on 101, quoting incident number 698 of February 15.
