Sunderland Doctor suspended after botched breast surgery

A Doctor has been suspended from practice after he ‘botched’ a woman’s breast implant surgery.

The doctor, who runs Sunderland’s Aesthetic Beauty Centre, will now not be allowed to practice fo ra year, however he has not be struck off.

He was called before the Medical Practitioners’ Tribunal Service (MPTS) after his patient was left with horrific scars following an operation to even out the size of her breasts.

The 32-year-old woman spend over £4,500 on the procedure after undergoing a gastric bypass and tummy tuck two years earlier.

But after having the opertation the stitching burst and the breast implants began to sag from the wound.

The medical negligence victim suffered a gruelling eighteen months as she underwent a series of operations to correct the mistake.

“I’m furious he has not been struck off,” she told press.

“It was found that he was working while suspended.

“I won’t let this lie and I’m furious.

“He should never be allowed to do anything ever again.

“I will always have to live with what he did and I’ve got it for life – he will be back practising in 12 months.”

A spokesperson from the MPTS said, “The panel considers that your lack of personal insight implies a continuing risk to patients. Your integrity cannot be relied upon.”

Personal injury solicitors are already investigating whether or not the woman could be entitled to cosmetic surgery compensation
