Teenage Boy Killed in Cycling Accident

A teenage cyclist from London has been killed after a collision with a car, which then failed to stop at the scene.

The 17-year-old boy died just a few hours after the crash in south-east London. 

The Force were called the the scene around 5pm on Friday on the junction of Church Street and Bronze Street a spokesperson confirmed. 

The cycling accident is thought to have been caused by a silver Audi at a pedestrian crossing. 

The Police heard how the car failed to stop and the driver continued along the road. The driver then turned round, came back and pulled up next to the scene before driving off again. 

The young cyclist was found abandoned and was rushed to King’s hospital where he died. 

A 27-year-old man was arrested at the weekend on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failiure to stop at the scene of an accident. 

He was later released on bail until May.
