Teenage passenger injured in car accident

A 17 year old boy was rushed to Northern General Hospital following an accident when the car he was travelling in crashed into a wall.

A police spokesman said: “A silver BMW was travelling towards Eckington when the driver appears to have lost control of the vehicle approaching a left-hand bend at the junction with Duke Street.

“The BMW has then crossed High Street and hit a stone wall.”

The accident happened on the High Street in Mosborough in the early hours of the morning where it is thought the driver temporarily ‘lost control’ of his BMW 316. The young passenger was trapped in the vehicle and Fire crews were called to help free him from the car. His injuries are said to be serious but not life threatening. The driver of the BMW who was also a teenager is said to have minor back and neck injuries.
