Ten injured in M6 car accident

Ten people were injured when six vehicles were involved in a collision on the M5 on Friday.

The accident caused long queues between Weston and Burham-On-Sea as emergency services helped those involved and cleaned up debris.

Police confirmed that two drivers had been taken to hospital by an ambulance, while the other 8 involved were treated by paramedics and fire crews at the scene.

It is thought that the wet and slippery road conditions could have caused the incident but it was not immediately clear a spokesperson said.

Debris and oil was sent over the road, promoting an extensive clean-up operation that led to continued delays throughout the evening.
