Young man assaulted, robbed and left for dead

Police are investigating a criminal incident after a 19 year old man was assaulted and robbed on a busy street. The robbery happened in the early hours between 3.20 – 3.30am when the young man was approached by two men.
The assault took place after two men crossed over a road to speak to the teenager and asked him if he had any money. When he replied that he didn’t have any he was then knocked to the floor unconscious and his wallet and debit card were taken.

The man was left with serious injuries to his head and ear and was taken to hospital for treatment. Police are seeking witnesses to the incident.
